What do people from MMA think about boxing, and what do people from boxing think about MMA,
The reality is that "Ultimate Fighting" and boxing are both sports. The rules of boxing are that you can punch with your hands only. In ultimate fighting you can punch, elbow, kick, knee, throw, grapple and submit. Does this mean that people who train MMA (for ultimate fighting) have to work harder to become proficient with all the extra techniques they can use, or that because boxing focuses on just the hands, it is more aesthetically pleasing to watch. What do you think.

I used to be a big boxing fan. "The Sweet Science" does seem more graceful than most MMA events where the matches invariably end up on the ground. Joe Logan pointed out that if you don't know the MMA game, it's really not going to look aesthetic, and I agree.
I hadn't checked out an MMA fight for a while, but there was one on the other night. Plenty of ground stuff, elbows and blood. Then the guy that was losing on the ground ended up winning via KO. So striking (as in boxing) can end things quickly (so could a naked rear-choke for that matter). I like the versatility of MMA, and for that reason it'll probably be around for a long time.
